  1. Sathorn is one of Bangkok’s 50 districts (khet, in Thai).
  1. Sathorn District was established on November 9, 1989 by splitting from Yan Naw District.
  1. The district got its name after the Sathorn Road and Khlong Sathorn.

  1. Sathorn District is sub-divided into three sub-districts (kwaeng, in Thai): Thung Wat Don, Yan Nawa, and Thung Maha Mek.

  1. Wat Yannawa, Wat Don, and Wat Prok are three temples that serve the residents in Sathorn area.
  1. Wat Don Cemeteryis a graveyard that contains buried remains of people of Chinese heritage.
  1. The district is served by the BTS Silom Line (skytrain), MRT Blue Line (metro), Bangkok BRT (bus), and Chao Phraya Express Boat.
