HOW TO MAKE NUMBERS FROM 10 TO 100 IN MONGOLIAN | Learn Mongolian Lesson #12





In this episode of Learn Mongolian, my Mongolian friend and Olympic archer Gangtugs Jantsan will teach you how to make numbers from 10 to 100 in Mongolian.

Let’s begin the lesson.

As a general rule, the numerals from 11 to 19 are formed by combining the word for 10 (araw) with the respective number. For example, 11 is a combination of 10 and 1: araw (10) + neg (1) = araw neg (11).

As a general rule, the numerals from 21 to 29 are formed by combining the word for 20 (hori) with the respective number. For example, 21 is a combination of 20 and 1: hori (20) + neg (1) = horin neg (21).

20 – hori
21 – horin neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 31 to 39 are formed by combining the word for 30 (guch) with the respective number. For example, 31 is a combination of 30 and 1: guch (30) + neg (1) = guchin neg (31).

30 – guch
31 – guchin neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 41 to 49 are formed by combining the word for 40 (duch) with the respective number. For example, 41 is a combination of 40 and 1: duch (40) + neg (1) = duchin neg (41).

40 – duch
41 – duchin neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 51 to 59 are formed by combining the word for 50 (tayv) with the respective number. For example, 51 is a combination of 50 and 1: tayv (50) + neg (1) = tayvin neg (51).

50 – tayv
51 – tayvin neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 61 to 69 are formed by combining the word for 60 (jar) with the respective number. For example, 61 is a combination of 60 and 1: jar (60) + neg (1) = jaren neg (61).

60 – jar
61 – jaren neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 71 to 79 are formed by combining the word for 70 (dal) with the respective number. For example, 71 is a combination of 70 and 1: dal (70) + neg (1) = dalen neg (71).

70 – dal
71 – dalen neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 81 to 89 are formed by combining the word for 80 (naya) with the respective number. For example, 81 is a combination of 80 and 1: naya (80) + neg (1) = nayan neg (81).

80 – naya
81 – nayan neg

As a general rule, the numerals from 91 to 99 are formed by combining the word for 90 (yer) with the respective number. For example, 91 is a combination of 90 and 1: yer (90) + neg (1) = yeren neg (91).

90 – yer
91 – yeren neg

100 – zuu
