How to Milk a Cow Like a Pro

I travelled throughout Thailand to see how the pros milk cows!

Saraburi

The benefits of being an expat is that everything , regardless of how dumb or mundane it is, becomes something of interest. Even if it’s milking cows!

I travelled to Saraburi, a province about 2-hours ride north of Bangkok, to join a cow milking activity.

The Thai-Danish Dairy Farm in Saraburi offers tours of their farm packed with fun activities. Among other things, you can:

– check out milk maggots (that was gross!)

– you can feed the ostrich,

– you can feed the dromedary

– you can feed the calves (that was cute!)

– you can ride a horse

– and, of course, milk the cows!

And what’s everyone’s favourite? Milking the cows!

But soon, all us city people, realize that milking cows is not as easy as it sounds. You’ve got to be a pro to milk a cow!

The Thai-Danish Dairy Farm is located on Mitraphap Road in Muak Lek District, Saraburi. You can take a tram ride every Monday to Friday from 10am, 2pm, and 4pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am, 11am, 2pm, and 4pm. Admission fee is 50 baht for children, 80 baht for students, 100 baht for Thai adults, and 200 baht for foreigners.

And this is how you milk a cow like a pro:
