Doraemon Fair at Terminal 21 in Bangkok

Doraemon is one of the most beloved cartoon / manga / anime characters created by the Japanese artist Fujiko Fujo. Alongside Hello Kitty, Doraemon is also one of the most recognizable brands for children.

Between September 4-9, 2012, Terminal 21, a shopping mall located in the heart of Bangkok, near Asoke BTS station, holds a Doraemon Fair entitled  “100 years before the birth of Doraemon.”

The title of the fair hints to the fact Doraemon, a robotic cat, can travel in time to help his friends. The fair celebrates the 100th anniversary before Doraemon is to be born. The fair offers a plethora of activities which will for sure entertain the little’uns.

As you walk in Terminal 21 via the BTS bridge, you will be greeted by a huge Doraemon doll. Behind the doll there’s a stage with a gigantic “birthday cake.”

There are three rounds of shows performed daily at 1 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm, during which time different Doraemon characters come up on stage to entertain the public.

The ground floor is filled with many “Doraemon life-size sets” which you can visit, climb, and experience while your friends and family snap as many photos as possible.

There are also various cardboard decorations which, once again, are perfect photo opportunities.

There’s area with event T-shirts for sale and a station where both children and adults can paint their own Doraemon-themed T-shirts.

If you want to combine pleasure with usefulness, you can pay your bills at the K-ATM booth located behind the Doraemon sets. If you do that, you have the chance of winning a special prize.

The basement floor has a large area set up with Doraemon merchandise, selling every imaginable item possible.
