Word Play 2012: Bangkok’s annual literary festival

Word-Play-bangkok-literary-festival copyWord Play, Bangkok’s annual literary festival, brings to you some of the best Bangkok-based Thai and international authors, poets, artists and workshop leaders.

Where? Neilson Hays Library, Garden Gallery Cafe
When? Sunday March 25, 2012
What time? 10:00am – 8:00pm
How much? General Admission: 200 baht (all talk sessions)
; Workshop Admission: 500-600 baht (per workshop)

There will be two workshops in the Garden Gallery Cafe:

A Photography Workshop with Gavin Gough @ 10:00am – 11:30am – 500 baht (pre-registration required)
Silk Paper Art and Its Beauty with Laura Orsolini @ 12pm-2pm – 600 baht (materials included – pre-registration required)

You’ll have a chance to meet your favorite authors:

Philip Cornwel-Smith – “Thai Hybrid”
Luke Cassady-Dorion – “Farang Pok Pok”
David Young – “Sukhumvit Road”
Dr. Kriengsak Charoenwongsak – “The Passion of the Thais”
Joe Cummings – “Sacred Tattoos of Thailand”
Robert Reynolds – “Asian Tsunami and the Ever-Changing Life”
Dean Barrett – “Writing on Asia”
Dale Konstantz – “Still Life in Moving Vehicles”
Tom Vater & Aroon Thaewchatturat – “Portraits of the Thais and Sacred Skin”

The festival with end with a poetry reading by “Poetry Mahanakorn @ Word Play” led by Colin Cheney and Bangkok-based international and Thai poets.

The Neilson Hays Library will be closed for the festival. Books will be available for purchase and signing at special prices. Foods and refreshments will be available throughout the day catered by the British Club.
